Don't Listen to the Enemy Even if What He Says Sounds & Feels True

Let’s talk about the enemy for a moment. I don’t like to focus on him too much, but the truth is daughter, if you love Jesus and are living wholeheartedly for Him, he hates you. He wants you stuck in your pain, stuck in your feelings, stuck in anything you-focused so that he can keep you from living as God’s Beloved daughter because when you do the world will take notice, and they will see Christ in you, the Hope of the world.

John 10:10 says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I (Jesus) have come that you would have life, and have it to the full. So what does this mean for walking through pain or hard things?

Dear child, God wants to walk with you through this. He’s not disappointed in you. He wants to show you a way through. He wants to comfort you. He wants to heal deep wounded places that you may not even know are there, but He doesn’t want you to stay stuck. He wants you to draw closer and closer to Him.

I stayed stuck listening to the enemy's lies for way too long because they felt and sounded true, based on how I felt and how my circumstances looked.

That’s why we must know and meditate on TRUTH from God’s word and let it sink down deep and replace any lies we’ve believed.

Friends, God has and continues to pull me out of what has felt like quicksand as he has healed deep places in me and invited me to trust him over my feelings or circumstances. I believe God wants to pull many of you out as well, but you MUST trust Him over our feelings and circumstances, reach out for His hand, and believe that even if I have the feelings and my circumstances don’t change, His Word is still true, and this will pass. You will be stronger and more rooted and grounded in His love.

To close, I would encourage you to read the lyrics of Evidence by Josh Baldwin and consider praying these words as a prayer, a declaration to God of your trust in him over your feelings, and take some time to reflect on God’s goodness all over your life.

“Help me remember when I’m weak that fear will come, but fear will leave. You lead my heart to victory, you are my strength and you always will be. I see the evidence of your goodness all over my life. I see the promises and fulfillment all over my life. I see the cross the empty grave. The evidence is endless. All my sin rolled away because of you oh Jesus. So why should I fear the evidence is here.”
