Hello my friends! I believe this message will encourage and empower you today. Let's jump in!
A big part of loving others with the same love that God loves us is learning and embracing that we are “human beings” not “human doings.” Girls, He knows that we are but dust and is tender and compassionate to those who fear Him.
“The Lord is like a Father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust.” (Psalm 103:13)
I believe many of us have been taught and we have believed that our worth is based on what we do for God and for others. Girls, yes it is true that God does call us to partner with Him in His purposes. And as you get to know Him more, He will show you the purposes He’s created you for. It is such a privilege that the King of the Universe wants us to be a part of His plan, purposes, and building His kingdom that will last forever.
In all of that, though, I truly believe that a big part of partnering with God in His purposes comes from a place of being. I believe He wants us to be with Him, to be with people in their pain, to be available, to be teachable, to be fully surrendered to His will and His way.
To ultimately be still and know that He is God and we are not. So much of our doing is actually in the being. As we learn to be, we learn the Ephesians 2:10 good works He created us to do. And guess what, for every one of us - He wants us to love Him and love others. We are all created to love. That’s the greatest command.
“For we are God’s handiwork created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31)
Girls, I believe the Lord is saying to many of us, “Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted in the heavens, I will be exalted throughout the earth.” (Psalm 46:10)
As we are still before Him, as we listen, as we acknowledge that He is God and we are not, we see how dependent we are on Him. We see how we are not in control, but how He is. Girls, we begin to hear more clearly from Him as we are still before Him. As we talk to Him, as we listen to the Holy Spirit speak and highlight scripture to us, and as we are still before Him; we will hear clearly how we are to let our lights shine before men so that they will glorify our Father in heaven. That's great news friends! Oh how we want others to know our loving Heavenly Father and have a relationship with Him!
“Let your light shine before others so they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
