Everything Will Be Okay - Part 1

Updated: Feb 9, 2021

Hello sweet girls, how are you doing? I want you to be completely honest...How has this past season been for you?

Oh how I wish I could sit across from you outside in a beautiful garden-like spot while sipping lattes or enjoying our favorite ice cream sundaes and just listen. I wish I could listen to your story, your hurt, your pain, listen to your questions, and then look you in the eyes and tell you how sorry I am for all the hard things you are going through. Your parents getting divorced, not getting to see your friends right now, being diagnosed with a terrible sickness, feeling alone, feeling forgotten, feeling scared.

Oh girls, I’m so,so sorry. As much as I want to and wish I could, I can’t take away the pain, but I can share HOPE and His name is Jesus and He wants to listen. Even though it may not feel like it right now, He is our hope and the Holy Spirit is alive in us; everything is going to be okay. Christ is still on the throne, and He is in control of everything going on. Because He’s in control and lives in us through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we can rest securely in the shadow of His wings and confidently know everything is going to be okay.

“God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27

“As He (Christ) is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:17

“He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Psalm 91:4

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1

You might look at me and say, do you really believe that? Have you seen the world we live in? Do you know about the racial tension and all the injustice and suffering in the world? Have you been on planet Earth this year as the coronavirus has devastated the world? Do you know all the hard things I’m facing that feel like they will never end?  I would answer you kindly, I have seen a lot of hard, terrible, evil things going on and this is all so hard and it’s not meant to be this way and one day it won’t, but because I know the One who holds everything together I know it’s going to be okay.

Over and over in His word, God gives us His precious promises that He will never leave us or forsake us. He tells us He’s with us always. He also tells us He chooses the time and places we are born so that we will seek Him. He reminds us that every one of our days is written in His book.

“For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.” Joshua 1:5

“From one man he created all nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and he determined their boundaries.” Acts 17:26-27

“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book.” Psalm 139:16

And girls, we know who wins...King Jesus! He’s already won and He is reigning in heaven and He is preparing a place for us and will one day return for His Bride to take us to be with Him forever where there will be no more tears, sorrow, or pain. Oh girls, one day we will be in our true home!

“In my Father’s house there are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” John 14: 2-3

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelations 21:4

“But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.” Hebrew 11:6

Reflection:

  1. How does it feel to know that God is with you and He will neither leave nor forsake you? Does it give you confidence? Girls, this is a game changer. If you are God’s child, you are NEVER alone. Let that sink in.

  2. How does it make you feel to know that God chose you to live at this moment in time, in this generation and that he has a specific purpose for you for such a time as this? Ask Him today, how He wants you to be His hands and feet to those around you.

  3. Read Revelation 21 and meditate on our true forever home. Girls, if you are God’s daughter, you will be there one day. This is our true home. Our reality. Take some time and meditate (think) about our true home and our true perfect King, King Jesus and how incredible beyond words that will be.

  4. Ask the Holy Spirit to show how you are to live every day as God’s ambassador (representative) here even though this is not your true home. Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you of your true forever home.
