Girl Talk

So I recently have spent time with a mom and daughter who do something that just warms my heart. It’s something that when I heard about it, I thought to myself, everyone should do this! And why wouldn’t we?! They spend time putting on the Armor of God everyday. The mother, knowing that God’s Word is so powerful and meaningful, wanted to speak the Armor of God over her daughter before she went to school every morning. Friends of the daughter have even made the comment that they wished their parents did that with them. I think it’s a good challenge for all of us. I think of the time I spend putting on my mascara, foundation, powder, lip gloss - what if I learned to put on the Armor; God’s Armor. I’m proud of Kazia as she is now learning to speak the armor, Ephesians 6:11-19, herself instead of her mom just saying it. Well, here ... I’ll let her tell you about it....

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, & having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, & having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, & the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer & supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with perseverance & supplication for all the saints- and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.”

GIRL TALK:

Are you ready to take the challenge of praying the Armor of God on everyday and seeing how your week goes? Do you think it could make a difference? Why?
My favorite part is “above all, take the shield of faith...” Why do you think faith is most important to stand up against Satan?
I really want to go in depth in what these words mean. So be watching for comments; or better yet, feel free to go ahead and make some comments or list some questions yourself :)
