Girl Talk Christian Blog
You always ask me what God has been showing me lately and in so I thought I'd share this with you. I was recently going back in forth with my friend, and she admitted to me that she was struggling with God and faith lately. She wasn't doubting her faith or anything, just that she was feeling unsatisfied and unhappy. And so as an encouragement to her, I shared with her what God has shown me lately and this is what I wrote her...
"I'll definitely be praying for you. That’s one thing that has REALLY helped me lately. Praying. I kinda prayed before now in like half thoughts and subconsciously and a few times before bed or before I eat. But it was almost like I felt guilty for not talking to Him so I sent up a quick prayer and then went on my way.
Lately, I've been constantly praying about anything that comes to mind. And not only do I pray, but I talk to God like He is my best friend. I don't try to sugar coat my prayers anymore or try to word them all pretty like. I say it how it is. I'm honest about how I feel and I thank God every time I pray for hearing my prayer, for caring, and anything else I feel God has blessed me with that day. It really puts you in a better mindset to talk to God when you are constantly aware of the fact that you have every reason to be grateful to God no matter the situation. And although He is all powerful and He is not dependent on us, He LOVES us and WANTS us more than we will ever understand. He is concerned with every matter in our life, no matter how big or small it might seem to the rest of the world, because He knows it's a big deal to us.
The good thing is, its no BIG deal to Him. He is SO much bigger than our problems. And that doesn't mean that He belittles our problems because He's like "why are you worried about that, that is so insignificant." He's really like "I know this is hard for you, I understand. But you REALLY don't need to worry. I've got you and I'm not gonna let you go. I will NOT let you go through anything alone or through things without my strength to support you. With Me ALL things are possible. Don't worry. I've got you."
Thats the biggest thing for me lately. Is that God REALLY DOES CARE. The Bible wasn't just trying to be polite by saying God was concerned with the trials in our everyday lives. He MEANT it. And God doesn't even need to promise us for us to know He won't go back on His word. He means what He says. Promise or no promise. The promises are for our benefit, so that we do believe Him because He knows how stubborn and forgetful we can be."
